Scheduled Trainings

We do not currently have any trainings scheduled for 2010; however, we would be happy to talk to you about any specific questions you may have related to the do's and don'ts of 501(c)(3) election activity and the specifics of voter registration, education and get-out-the-vote efforts. Check out the power point from our trainings for a lot of helpful information and feel free to contact us with any questions!

Voter Engagement Trainings for Nonprofits

Our trainings provide nonprofits with the information they need to effectively incorporate voter participation work into their ongoing activities.

Topics covered include -

  • The difference voter participation makes
  • Barriers to doing voter participation work and the unique assets nonprofits bring to the work
  • Staying nonpartisan
  • Registering to vote and voting in Michigan
  • Ways to incorporate voter participation work into your nonprofit’s regular activities

How long is a training?

Our standard training runs for 2 & 1/2 hours, but we will tailor the training to meet your needs.

May I request a training for my nonprofit or group?

Yes, here's how:

Step 1: Fill out and submit the "Sign Up for a Training" form. At the end of the form, select the option "I'm interested in a training, but cannot attend any of those listed above."

Step 2: We will work with you to determine what you want from the training.

Step 3: We will then confirm a date and time for the training.

Can I attend a training that’s already scheduled?

Yes, you can, providing that there is still space available.

Trainings are designed to equip 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with the tools they need to engage in nonpartisan voter engagement activities. All trainings are free of charge; however pre-registration is required as space is limited.
